Your trust. Our expertise.

Our responsibility to our clients comes first. From wealth management to retirement solutions, our insight and sophisticated financial strategies can help make your investment goals a reality.

At Libertas Financial Group, we provide fee-based financial planning and investment advisory services designed to align with each client’s individual objectives, risk tolerance, and time horizon.

Investment Strategies & Model Explanations

Our investment approach emphasizes direct portfolio oversight and ongoing communication between advisor and client. By managing portfolios in-house, we seek to provide disciplined and efficient investment management experience while maintaining a competitive advisory fee structure.

Our portfolios primarily utilize ETFs and individual securities. In certain areas of the market where additional specialization may be appropriate — including portions of international markets or fixed income — we may incorporate select mutual funds or third-party professional managers.

We actively monitor portfolios and make adjustments when appropriate based on evolving market conditions, economic developments, risk considerations, and client objectives. Portfolios may be rebalanced periodically, and holdings may be added or removed as part of the ongoing management process.

Our investment philosophy incorporates what we refer to as a “Three-Legged Stool” approach to investing. Each strategy serves a different role within an overall portfolio framework and is designed to support diversification, risk management, and long-term investment objectives.

Performance and portfolio characteristics may be evaluated relative to widely recognized market indexes, including the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, Wilshire 3000, and various international benchmarks. Indexes are unmanaged and cannot be invested in directly.

Research utilized in developing and monitoring our models may include information from third-party research providers, market data vendors, and internal analysis. While historical observations may provide insight into portfolio behavior over various market cycles, past performance does not guarantee future results.

Asset Allocation — First Leg of the Stool

Our Asset Allocation models range from conservative income-focused allocations to more growth-oriented strategies. Models are categorized on a scale from 1 to 6, with 6 representing the highest equity exposure and corresponding risk profile.

These portfolios primarily utilize ETFs along with select mutual funds and are designed to provide diversified exposure across multiple investment categories, including:

  • Large-cap equities
  • Mid-cap equities
  • Small-cap equities
  • Growth and value investments
  • International and emerging markets
  • Fixed income
  • Opportunistic sector exposure

This is the primary strategy category in which fixed income allocations may be incorporated for clients seeking lower portfolio volatility or income-oriented objectives. Fixed income exposure may vary significantly depending on client goals, market conditions, and overall portfolio strategy.

Portfolios are reviewed regularly and may be rebalanced periodically in response to changing market conditions, investment opportunities and risk exposure.

Equity Income — Second Leg of the Stool

Our Equity Income strategy focuses on a portfolio of dividend-paying companies selected through a disciplined review process emphasizing factors such as dividend history, financial characteristics, and overall business quality.

Many holdings may include companies commonly associated with long histories of dividend payments and increases over time.

This strategy is not solely focused on high dividend yield. Instead, the emphasis is on companies that we believe may offer a combination of income potential, financial stability, and long-term investment merit.

The portfolio is generally invested primarily in equities, with modest cash allocations when appropriate. Dividend yields and income levels will fluctuate based on market conditions, company actions, and portfolio composition.

As market conditions evolve, holdings may be rebalanced or replaced, and new opportunities may be identified. The strategy is generally managed with a longer-term perspective, though portfolio turnover may vary over time. Tax considerations may also be evaluated as part of the portfolio management process where appropriate.

Sector Rotation — Third Leg of the Stool

The Sector Rotation Strategy represents the most growth-oriented component of our Three-Legged Stool approach and is designed for investors with a higher tolerance for market volatility and equity risk. The Sector Rotation Strategy allocates capital to the five strongest sectors selected from a universe consisting of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors and 9 key industry subsectors. At each rebalance period, the model evaluates relative strength, momentum, and other ranking factors across all 20 sector and subsector candidates, selecting the top five for inclusion in the portfolio.

The strategy generally allocates to a limited number of sectors demonstrating stronger relative characteristics over defined measurement periods. Holdings may be adjusted as sector leadership changes over time.

This approach is designed to participate in areas of the market demonstrating relative strength rather than attempting to predict precise market tops or bottoms. Market leadership can change rapidly, and there can be no assurance the strategy will achieve its intended objectives.

Turnover levels may vary depending on market conditions and changes in sector leadership trends. Because the strategy is fully equity-based and concentrated in select sectors, it may experience greater volatility and risk than more diversified approaches.
